Phoenixwood shutters are made from Phoenixwood, from the Phoenix Tree (Firmiana Simplex) which is classed as a hardwood, and comes from the Sterculiaceae (Cacao) family of trees.

For the ultimate brilliance and resilience, we use multiple sequences of sanding and thin layers of coating with solid colours or stains. This labour-intensive process creates the ideal surface, resulting in a uniquely grained and lustrous finish. The wood grain characteristics of the Phoenixwood material is exceptional. With stain, the distinctive wood grain has enhanced depth and character, If you like your shutters smooth, our contemporary solid colours gleam on the polished surface. Whatever your personal style, warm and rustic or sleek and refined, you are sure to find the perfect match for your d├ęcor.

All windows are not created equal. The specialty collection includes shapes beyond conventional squares and rectangles. If you have arches, hexagons, sliding or French doors, or other unusual window openings, we've got you covered! Our specialty shutters can be crafted to fit virtually any window opening.

Phoenixwood shutters are available in a variety of standard stain and paint colours. Phoenixwood timber in its natural state has a very even colour, which makes it ideal to stain. It has a distinctive porous grain pattern, and the pores will be visible even through the painted finishes. Phoenixwood is a natural timber, and as such, some variation in colour and texture may occur.

The Phoenixwood timber used for the shutters and blinds is grown mainly in China as a plantation timber. Phoenixwood is a reasonably quick growing timber, and is readily available. The plantation forests are managed for sustainability, ensuring an environmentally friendly and ongoing supply.
